Once I realized what I was driven to make, my voice as an artist began to take on a life of its own.

My voice is my story. My art is my voice.

My hope is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at what’s around them, to discover beauty in unusual places and to help people see things from a different perspective. The concept of presenting common things in an unfamiliar way to enhance perception of the familiar. One thing that sets the tone for me is to observe. It’s watching, paying attention, appreciating the smallest of details, and seeing how things are. Looking past the obvious, close observation and engagement are my process. The challenge is to see beyond the distraction of the conspicuous to capture its unique self. Most of my work comes from spontaneous acts of creativity expressing feelings and thoughts by seeing the world and my physical surroundings through a different lens. Sometimes my subjects are quite beautiful, others less so. Drawing inspiration from both near and far away places – composition, color, pattern, light, and texture all play a key role in creating art that speaks to me in ways that appeal to my sense as a designer.
